There again comes a landmark move in front of “We the people”. The Union cabinet in the Lok Sabha elections have approved the 10% reservation in jobs as well in the higher education for economically backward people in the upper cast.
Every situation have some pros and cons as this bill can be looked as a cherry on the cake to the people of the upper cast and can also be seen as a new reservation of 10% above the already existing 50% enjoyed by the SC, ST and other backward classes, so a total reservation of 60% in total.
Keeping in mind all the dynamics and scope of a given situation, the major issue arose here is how is this going to work or what will be its applicability. In this account we cannot miss the previous situations where we had the same scenario once in the Narashima Rao’ government as well the Indra Sawhney case.
This bill led so many questions unanswered. Since the bill is passed by the Lok Sabha but parliament does not have that sufficient numbers in Rajya Sabha, we can call it as a political stroke, as BJP have a win- win situation in both ways.
